The Cisco Catalyst 8000 Series is designed to provide powerful routing and security for modern networks. This series of routers is built on the Cisco IOS XE architecture, providing a wide range of features and flexibility for a variety of deployment scenarios. Key models include:
- Cisco Catalyst 8500 Series Edge Platform:
- With QFP 3.0, the ASIC supports high throughput, port availability and reliability for mission-critical networks.
- Cisco Catalyst 8300 and C8200 Series Edge Platform:
- They support a wide range of add-on modules (NIM, PIM, SM).
- Cisco Catalyst 8000v Edge Software:
- This software enables virtual deployment of Catalyst 8000 routers on various cloud platforms or on your own infrastructure. This is useful for hybrid cloud solutions or for organizations using a cloud environment.
The Cisco 1000 Series Integrated Services Routers (ISR 1000 Series) portfolio has been continually expanding over the years to provide customers with the flexibility they need. The ISR 1000 Series combines routing, switching, Wi-Fi, integrated security, and DSL and LTE uplink capabilities in a single, simple, high-performance device. With a simple and flexible pay-as-you-grow model, network capacity can be purchased only when needed.
