NetApp Unveils Upgraded AFF-A Series and New StorageGrid Models

NetApp has introduced the upgraded AFF-A series, featuring the latest and most powerful models aimed at delivering maximum performance for the most demanding applications and artificial intelligence.

New AFF A-Series All-Flash Systems

NetApp's new all-flash systems in the AFF A-Series are faster, more powerful, more efficient, and ready for AI technologies. These high-performance systems are designed to handle the next generation of workloads with diverse needs:

  • AFF A70: Offers the best price-performance ratio.
  • AFF A90: Ensures high performance, ideal for critical workloads.
  • AFF A1K: The most powerful model, designed to manage the most demanding workloads.

The new AFF A-Series offers up to twice the performance of the previous generation. These systems are packed with innovations while maintaining the simplicity and reliability that tens of thousands of organizations worldwide trust across various industries.


Enhanced Performance and Scalability

The new models are designed for massive scalability and exceptional performance, with up to 40 million IOPS and throughput up to 1TB/s in a cluster. Enhanced connectivity through 200Gb Ethernet and 64Gb Fibre Channel (FC) ensures rapid data access and improved performance. The increased bandwidth provided by PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 memory significantly enhances data read and write speeds, enabling faster data transfer.

With integrated Intel Quick Assist Technology (Intel QAT) in the 4th generation Intel Xeon processors, inline data compression and deduplication are always on without impacting performance. These new models offer exceptional storage efficiency while maintaining the high performance needed for critical workloads. For example, database applications run up to 44% faster, and storage efficiency increases by 71%.

  • SG5860: A cost-effective storage solution with a capacity of 240TB to 1.3PB, ideal for critical object workloads.
  • SGF6112: Offers similar cost per GB as previous models while providing up to 3x higher performance, occupying up to 5x less space, and reducing energy consumption by up to 70% for customers with older disks.
  • SG6160: Designed for enterprises demanding uncompromised performance, offering a capacity of 240TB to 4PB.

StorageGRID simplifies data management, enhances security, and accelerates the deployment of AI/ML applications and data lakes.
