Qualifications

  • College/university degree or a minimum of 3 years of proven experience in relevant areas of web application security and application delivery.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong understanding of customer/partner needs with the capability to identify pain points and provide effective solutions.
  • Good communication, strong writing, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Strong sense of ownership and commitment to deliver results.
  • Ability to collaborate with F5 Networks Integrator Partners on the local market.
  • Fluency in spoken English oral and written.

Job Purpose

  • We are looking for a Presales Systems Engineer specializing in the F5 Networks portfolio. The primary mission of this role is to support business growth by providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the sales cycle, helping customers and partners understand, design and adopt solutions focused on application delivery, application security, API security, multi-cloud networking and AI-driven security and governance.
  • The Systems Engineer will work closely with the F5 Networks Business Development Manager, account teams, partners and customers primarily in Romania and the surrounding region, acting as a technical advisor and helping to identify, qualify and develop business opportunities. The role is primarily presales-oriented, with involvement in proof of concepts, workshops and knowledge transfer activities.
  • This position is open to both mid-level and senior candidates. Responsibilities, autonomy and partner/customer engagement will be adjusted according to the candidate's experience and professional development.

Duties and Responsibilities

Presales & Business Development

  • Developing into a technical advisor for customers, partners and internal sales teams.
  • Support business development activities throughout the entire sales cycle.
  • Discover customer requirements, identify pain points and translate them into solution designs.
  • Deliver technical presentations, workshops, demonstrations to technical and business audience.
  • Design and propose F5 Networks-based solutions aligned with customer business and technical objectives.
  • Support RFP/RFI/RFQ responses and prepare technical documentation.
  • Assist sales teams in opportunity qualification and technical positioning of F5 Networks solutions.
  • Support the positioning of F5 Networks technologies and communicate their value to customers and partners.

Partner & Customer Enablement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with channel partners.
  • Conduct partner enablement sessions and technical trainings.
  • Support technical communities, events and workshops.

Technical Leadership

  • Maintain expertise in F5 Networks technologies and adjacent security/cloud ecosystems.
  • Support proof-of-concept activities and solution validation.
  • Collaborate with F5 Networks vendors and partner technical teams.
  • Provide technical guidance during customer projects when required.

What we expect

  • Experience in presales engineering, solution consulting or technical sales.
  • Experience with F5 BIG-IP technologies or competing ADC/WAF solutions.
  • Ability to create solution architectures and technical proposals.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Understanding of application delivery, cloud networking and application security.
  • Occasional travel.

What you might have as an advantage

  • F5 Networks professional certification.
  • Knowledge of the principle of web application functionality.
  • Experience with integrating traditional data centers and private/public cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of NGINX, Apache, MS IIS technologies.
  • Experience with other Application Delivery Network technologies – ADNs are welcome.
  • AI-related skills (AI guardrails, Shadow AI, tokenomy, …).
  • Willingness to learn new technologies.
